Continuing yesterday’s theme of vertical buildings, this front really attracted my attention with its weathered look & green foliage pot plants; quite a contrast to the traditional shops and bars surrounding it.

Arriving in Ghent yesterday for a few days break, the tall, narrow buildings in the residential parts are striking with quite a lot of street art. We’re staying close to the university quarter which is a pretty laid-back area.

The Kingdom of the East Angles was a small independent kingdom of the Angles in England dating from the 6th Century during the Anglo-Saxon period. It was made up from the now English counties of Norfolk, Suffolk and part of Cambridgeshire and was one of seven kingdoms until it was absorbed into the Kingdom of England in the 10th Century.
