I'm a Black, gay millennial who plays a lot of video games & TTRPGs. So that's probably what this blog will be about.

#5 | Video Games - November Check In
Nov 3, 2026
It's November 3rd and I'm sitting at my desk thinking about how I haven't written a blog post since July. In my defense, I have no defense. I could argue that all the musical theater I've seen & audio books I've listened to and TTRPGs I've been playing have kept me from writing this blog, but that would be a lie & I don't believe in lying unnecessarily. Especially to you, dear reader. The truth is the same as it always is... I've spent as much time as I possibly could playing video games. Since ...

#4 | Video Games - The 2026 Release Window
Jul 23, 2026
Because of the work I do over on Bluesky posting about indie games, I keep a running list of upcoming games. The list includes release dates if I know them, but most of the games have a vague release window. And when I say vague I mean this: Looking at my spreadsheet right now, there are 23 titles that are scheduled to release this year so I would like to highlight 6 that I personally hope come out this year. #3 | Video Games - July Check In
Jul 2, 2026
Today is July 2nd, 2026 and that means the first half of the year is over and my anxiety about the 2nd half of it is officially here. Fortunately, there are video games and they still cost less than therapy and medication, despite Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo and Steam's best efforts. I have somehow made time to complete 14 games so far this year so its time to run them down listicle-style. JANUARY

#2 | Video Games - Indie Game Fest
Jun 9, 2026
Today is June 9th, 2026 which means the passed weekend was Summer Game Fest. For those like me who keep an eye on video games announcements and releases, that means more showcases than one person could reasonably keep up with. Even though a lot of the shine of big game announcements has worn away by trailer sameness (is that word?), its still very exciting to see what devs in the indie scene are cooking. To that end, here are 18 games that piqued my interest. I assembled this list from the showc...

#1 | TTRPG - Age Them Up Then Kill Them
Jun 3, 2026
Recently, I had to figure out how to have a player revisit the day his character's younger brother died without breaking my own GM rule: NO HARM TO CHILDREN. I am the GM for an ongoing game of Blades In The Dark that I play with my partner & two friends. When we started the game in the Spring of 2025, none of us had very much experience with TTRPGs. My friends had played a few sessions of D&D years ago & my partner & I had zero experience. As a person who enjoys a good story, I knew that the cha...
