Flera kvoter i Östersjön föreslås höjas inför 2027

EU-kommissionens förslag om kvoter för 2027 i Östersjön innebär ökningar både för sill- och skarpsillskvoter. För sillen (strömmingen) i centrala Östersjön föreslås att kvoten ska höjas med 49 procent. Skarpsillskvoten föreslås få en höjning på 44 procent, medan sillen i Rigabukten och Bottenhavet/Bottenviken föreslås få en ökad kvot med 11 respektive 3 procent. Samtidigt är förslagen i flera fall lägre än forskningens (ICES) råd.

De har nu har höjt sin makrillkvot igen. Det fördjupar en beståndskris för makrillen i Nordatlanten. EU-kommissionen menar att makrillbeståndet i nordöstra Atlanten nu är i ett kritiskt tillstånd efter år av överfiske. Särskilt pekar de ut Ryssland som ansvariga för situationen.

Höjning av räkkvoten med 15%

Efter flera år av minskade kvoter har EU och Norge beslutat att höja räkkvoten i Skagerak/Kattegatt för nästa kvotår, som löper mellan den 1 juli 2026 och den 30 juni 2027. Beslutet följer det vetenskapliga råd som presenterades av Internationella havsforskningsrådet (ICES) den 8 juni.
