Thinking about building a "Strava"-like app on AT Protocol, where users store their activities (runs, rides, etc.) in their own PDS

eatures:
✅ FIT file import (Garmin, Coros, ...)
✅ Photos, likes, comments
✅ Share options
✅ No vendor lock-in—your data, your rules

Why?

  • Privacy-first: Your data stays yours.
  • Bluesky-native: Activities as posts, follows/likes as usual.
  • Open & extensible: Anyone can build clients or tools.

Questions for you:
🔹 Would you use this?
🔹 Are there similar projects I’m missing?

Tech approach:

  • Parse FIT files → structured records in PDS.
  • Activities as custom posts with geo-data, stats, images.
  • Web/mobile client for uploads & visualisation.
