Getting there.
This last year has been crazy. My arms grew from 15.5 to 17 inches. Gained nearly 40lbs and worked out on average 5 times a week. I’ve never been comfortable in my body, but now that’s what I’m really excited about, not the strength but becoming comfortable with me. #fitness #gay #workingout #gaymen #men #flexing...

#oneaday Day 796: Midweek
It's the middle of the week, and I don't have a lot of specific things to talk about right now, so I will just waffle on about some bollocks and hope it fills my self-imposed "minimum" for each post I write here. Let's go! I am having an evening off from exercise. I bought some...

#oneaday Day 790: Twinge
Last night, I thought, for a change, I would try using some kettlebells I bought ages ago to do some simple exercises. They are quite heavy kettlebells, because I originally bought them feeling like I should buy manly kettlebells, but have just never really got around to using them all that much. I did a...

#oneaday Day 789: Longing for the saddle
One of the things I miss feeling like I am able to do, being the size I am, is cycling. I've never been particularly good at cycling -- memories of coming off my bike and shearing all the skin off my arm as a child are still painfully fresh -- but there's something just altogether...

#oneaday Day 783: Nothing compares 2U
When you are attempting to better yourself -- particularly if you know said process is going to be a long, drawn-out affair -- I have learned, over the years, that one of the worst things I can do is compare myself to others. This may not be universally true -- hence my use of "I"...

A Cadence of Pain
I failed my first Marathon while training on Runna. But it wasn't Runna's fault. At the LA Marathon last year, I did not finish. I stopped after 18 miles. My legs were in pain. My heels were in pain. I was afraid of rhabdomyolysis. But there was a hidden problem I didn't think about... you guessed it: my running cadence (see the title). But more on that later.

I enjoy Fitness+ more than Apple does
Even though the service doesn’t seem to deliver the results Apple is expecting, I enjoy using Apple Fitness+ nearly every day and really don’t want to miss it. Today, I had some fun (and sweat) with my kickboxing workout 🫠

Schweinehund ausgedribbelt

2024 in review
2024 went fast, and this post looks back at some of the things that featured in another far too busy year. Work Life at Google has not got any less challenging or busy during 2024, but I'm proud of the things my team and I have achieved. Everything that ends up on web.dev or developer.chrome.com...

11 years
Facebook reminds me that it's been 11 years since I went for an ill-advised run in the snow, fell, and shattered my elbow. I've had four surgeries since—the initial one to reconstruct it, with a bunch of metal. Two to remove the metal, and one in 2016 to scrape out scar tissue. The final procedure...
