One thing...

..i’ve come to love in 2025 is taking photos from a car. Yes—you should do it as a co driver, not while you’re behind the wheel – you know, for safety reasons :-)

Freedom

For me, it’s the perfect way to ignore all the constraints of photography. You inevitably have to be fast—the world doesn’t wait, it rushes past you. There’s almost never time to look through the viewfinder. Depending on the camera you use, you can create amazing motion blur effects.

Flexibility

You’re incredibly flexible! Landscape photography, street photography, urban architecture, or simply cool road movie shots? All of these work brilliantly from a car. You simply drive wherever you like, and your perspective is always unique. You’re right in the thick of things, whether it’s the vibrant hustle and bustle of a big city as you drive through the city center, the vastness of the world on a country road, “on the road again” on the motorway, or even a paparazzo lying in wait in a supermarket parking lot. And we haven’t even talked about the possibilities at night yet – you can probably already smell it, can you? ;-)

Good Reasons

The biggest advantage for me is that there’s finally a legitimate reason to ride these tourist trains on vacation :-) Because i actually really enjoy doing that.

Experiments

Experiment with everything your car has to offer. This could be a dirty or rain-soaked windshield, or the rearview mirror. The inner rearview mirror? Why not! Interesting things can happen inside the car too – especially when you’re traveling with friends.

Fin

And that’s all for today. I hope you’re inspired to try it yourself. If so, feel free to use the hashtag #fromthecar
