Do you know the 'Lomo' social site?

Over the past few weeks, I’ve increasingly found that when I ask people—specifically those who shoot primarily on film—whether they have a Lomohome, they respond with total confusion, asking what that even is. To my surprise, many seem to be unfamiliar with this little network. So, I figured I’d tell you a bit about it today. Lomohome is, in effect, the social network of the Vienna-based company Lomography. You could call it the mecca of analog photography. It is a centralized social network foc...

Sudoku - let's talk about that :-)

If you had asked me before today what I thought of Sudoku, my answer would have gone something like this: “Those are the number puzzles I don’t understand. I don’t even want to understand them—they’re not for me!” But as of today, something has changed. Let me explain it to you. Today at work, as I often do, I was walking through our campground when I noticed a little girl (she was about 6 years old) who was deep in thought, poring over a piece of paper with a pen. As I walked by, I saw that she...

Do The Hue Shift, Baby!

I stumbled across an interesting article on the Lomo Magazine today that I definitely want to recommend to you. Check this out: Since I’ve already taken quite a few photos with LomoChrome Turquoise film myself, I found the idea really interesting. Of course—I had to try it out right away :-) As simple as the concept behind it is, I think the results you can achieve with it are all the more amazing. Of course, from a purist Lomographer’s perspective, this practice is a bit questionable. Is that e...

The Minolta Dynax 60 changed things a bit...

Or let me be honest—this camera has completely turned my view of analog photography upside down. Until now, I was a fan of analog photography; I loved it, but I believed its possibilities were limited. What a mistake! I had already taken photos with high-quality analog cameras in my youth, but since I was born in 1981, the first digital cameras were much more interesting to me. I’d never actually held an “analog high-tech monster” like the Dynax 60 or Maxxum 70 back then. But that changed two we...

How I use ATmosphere today in 2026

It all started with my Bluesky account in late 2024. Back then, the ATmosphere—in its current form—was not even conceivable. There was simply Bluesky, with that faint idea of eventually becoming decentralized and open someday. And these days, it feels like new apps are popping up every day. It's become a huge and exciting playground, and I have to admit that there are already a few ATproto-based apps I couldn't live without. So, which apps in ATmosphere do I use the most, and for what purposes...

The Holga-120WPC was the first Holga camera in my collection. I spent a long time considering which camera to choose for getting started with pinhole photography. Ultimately, a panoramic pinhole camera won me over. Pinhole photography in general is a wonderful thing; it slows things down and compels you to rethink your compositions entirely. It isn't exactly the kind of Lomography one typically imagines, but perhaps that is precisely what makes it so exciting—since the 120WPC lacks a viewfinder,...

A piece of Lomography history! The LC-Wide is a further development of the Lomo LC-A, which in turn was a Russian copy of the Cosina CX-2. The LC cameras are considered the classics among Lomo cameras. They essentially launched the Lomography movement. You can find more information in the link below. This compact gem features automatic exposure, dual-zone focusing (0.4-0.9 and 0.9-infinity), selectable ISO settings of 100, 200, 400, 800, and 1600, and the ability to shoot half-frame and square f...

Lomo Apparat (Paris Edition)

My first 35mm camera from Lomography. A purist model without automatic exposure, featuring an integrated flash, prism and close-up lens, and a splitzer, which was broken on my camera and therefore I unfortunately never got to try it out. This camera is a fantastic all-rounder that practically begs to be experimented with. The 1/100 shutter speed is fast enough for almost any situation, and the focus range from 0.5m to infinity, combined with the 21mm focal length, is the ultimate invitation for ...

A look back at my first long-term hashtag project on Bluesky. It was f*c*ing cool! 🤘

Emojis are boring ╭∩╮(•̀_·́)╭∩╮

A heart here, a winking smiley there. Seen it a thousand times and admittedly just not cool anymore. But what should you write instead?
