Why do creative things?
Recently, I shared with someone that I wanted to explore something creative. Their response was basically, why would you waste your time doing that, it's not going to make you any money I think we've completely lost the the idea of having a hobby in our society. And I think it's because so many of us consume content of people turning their hobbies into something they sell ads around. So anytime someone decides to pursue a hobby, we assume it's because they want to eventually monetize it to be ri...2
Breaking from the Median
The barrier of entry has been significantly lowered for design and technology. But what does this mean for individuality and identity online, and how can we return to digital independance? (My first blog post)1
1997 - think (really) different
Below is a chronological timeline of the year's defining moments, featuring key quotes from Steve Jobs, followed by my own personal thoughts and reflections on experiencing this historic era firsthand. January 7, 1997 — Macworld San Francisco 1997 February 7, 1997 — NeXT Acquisition Finalized1
Developing My First Game: After Rain
I’m in my nostalgic era. Retro is the future, after all. I’ve been teaching myself how to draw pixel art for the past year. I’ve got a photography background, but absolutely no skills when it comes to traditional art. But I’ve been getting better and enjoying the process. It only made sense to use Pico-8 to make my first game. Pico-8 has made me focused on making small things, which is great because scope creep has kept me from finishing several projects. It’s been less intimidating than larger ...1
First Blog Entry!!
It feels kind of weird for my first write-up to just be an introduction, but at the same time so would completely skipping introducing myself and my intentions with this. I want this to be really brief so I’ll just get into the content that you should expect of me. In the future, I’ll be writing about a bunch of things hopefully: music, literature, fashion and random things that I get up to in my life. I’ve been wanting to upload my writing somewhere for people to read for a while, but there was...1

My Return to Insanity
I've written plenty of times about how, toward the end of 2024, I left most mainstream social media platforms. Especially those that were run by people that could be categorized as being part of what I call our “Broligarchy,” i.e. the tech bros that run companies like Meta and X (formerly Twitter). I cleaned out my accounts on Instagram, Threads, and X, and even fully took my Facebook and WhatsApp accounts off life support entirely by fully deleting them. I found a new home on places like Bluesk...2
AI Whiplash and the Future of Humanity
These days, everything I read about AI gives me a bad case of whiplash. Educators are fed up with Ai, so much that they are going back to pen and paper assignments in class. At the same time, the government is investing untold sums of money so that AI can take over literal functions of the government, just one of many efforts to make it clear that AI is the future of work. College graduates are entering a workforce that is completely upended by AI, signaling that the ability to use AI is paramou...1
Journaling with Obsidian - Update
About five months ago, I made the decision to stop using DayOne for journaling and use Obsidian for journaling instead. It felt like a big decision at the time, as I had journaled in DayOne for over 14 years, amassing thousands of memories. I made the move to Obsidian not certain that Obsidian as a journaling platform would stick. But stick it has and I haven't once considered returning to DayOne. The biggest reason I made this move away from DayOne was to get my journaling under my complete con...1
