made some improvements to the game recruiting since my last playing and I'll have to start over on my current save so that I can benefit from the new features, rather than continue with my existing save. The playthrough has been a great way to see what's going on and what bugs me about the engine, but it's also a single-player sim that really only works for me. I got the idea of fixing the D3/D4 talent differential after reading a blog post about D3 tennis and its variety.

- Losses to strong teams don't dent your APR

- D4 programs got boosted because they were worse off than D3 teams which made no sense, as they're the academic schools on balance.

- D4 programs field stronger tier rosters now, as a result, but they also have an academic gate for who they can sign. This is also applied to academic D1s which it wasn't in the past, only players themselves who had good test scores might consider them.

- D3 has the most variance and the worst players on average

- D2 will improve now legitimately getting the next tier of talent versus before

- Warm weather and bigger cities can be a tiebreaker for players choosing schools

- Playing time now gets factored in. Schools might overrecruit, but players are now aware of the roster of the teams they're interested in and sign where they might have the best chance to play. Too many good players were willingly sitting just to say "D1"

- Fall portal is also more diversified and should send players to more places
