Tom Kha Gai (4 Portionen)
Nun...

Huiyuan, China's Original National Juice, Cuts Ties With Its Own Name
Beijing Huiyuan, the juice maker founded in 1992 that became a fixture of Chinese grocery carts, announced it will stop producing anything carrying the 'Huiyuan' trademark after its restructuring investor failed to pay 850 million yuan — leaving cartons still on shelves under the famous name with no tie to the company that made it famous.

It is getting chilly here, so that means more soups and stews! Continuting with my year of bean dishes, today I made some white bean chicken chili to take to a pumpkin carving party. Sam's Club's Quality Reputation Wobbles in China as Members Recheck Every Box
Sam's Club built a devoted Chinese membership on the promise of vetted quality. A wave of complaints — maggots in noodles, a rat in a mochi box, downgraded private-label ingredients, and a regulators' summons — has members asking whether the trust they pay for is still there.

From a Street Cart to 20 Stores: A 21-Year-Old Student's Lemon-Milk Chain
Wang Yuxuan, a 21-year-old junior at a Hangzhou university, turned a hand cart of Huzhou-style lemon milk into a 20-store chain in seven months — 60,000 to 70,000 cups a month and more than a million yuan in monthly revenue — on 30,000 yuan of startup money and secondhand machines. Her story is this season's template of low-cost, student-run franchise entrepreneurship.

Guangxi Confirms Sulfur-Fumed Osmanthus and Orders a Countywide Sweep
A food-safety blogger's undercover video showing workshops in Yangshuo burning sulfur over osmanthus flowers — in the open, beside public roads — was confirmed by county authorities within a day. The flowers, a signature flavour of the autumn season, had been fumigated to double their weight and sell at a sixth of the untreated price.

Gedacht, getan. Den Teig habe ich wie gewohnt angesetzt. Dieses mal waren es 250g Weizenmehl und...

Paprika app for storing recipes (no subscription fee! at least for now)
I've been using the Paprika Recipe Manager app as my main tool for collecting recipes because: Lots of other features I like, but one of the most attractive for me: NO SUBSCRIPTION MODEL. I just paid once for the app. However, with the ongoing open beta for Paprika 4, I believe that while the app remains free to download, new premium features will require a subscription after the beta period is over. According to this Paprika 4 FAQ, existing users will automatically be upgraded to the new app BU...

Who Pays for CHAGEE's Buy-One-Get-One? The Franchisees, About 5 Yuan a Cup
CHAGEE's one-day buy-one-get-one giveaway to celebrate Zheng Qinwen's China Open title crashed its app and buried its stores in orders — and franchisees say they are carrying most of the cost, about 5 yuan on every free cup, against a brand subsidy of around 3 yuan.
