Standard.site link cards are coming to Bluesky 👀
The Atmosphere keeps getting a little more blog shaped. Starting today, will display enhanced link cards when you share a post from any powered publication. These new cards will include additional publication details built directly into the post preview. This means when you share a post from platforms like , , , , or any future Standard.site publisher, Bluesky can display much richer information about the publication behind the post.8
Settling in, and looking ahead
Hey Bloggers ! A lot has happened since our last post. Which always seems to be the case... We've been hard at work crafting new features and refining existing ones. By the way, it was so nice to meet many of you at Atmosphere Conference ! Previously, we announced pckt.cafe, our very own Personal Data Server. We've already seen adoption by more than 10% of pckt bloggers, many of whom are stepping into the Atmosphere for the very first time.12
Design for Living
We can date back Bluesky to 2023, when it officially launched as an invite-only beta, but the protocol truly had its beginnings in 2024 after PDSes became selfhostable and we saw the first few non-Bluesky apps pop up (WhiteWind, Frontpage, ... remember Picosky?).And with it appeared a new need: Browsing repositories.I'm not sure which came first, but before PDSls, there were atproto-browser and astrolabe. The former is what inspired me. It was a great way to demo the protocol, but not the most p...16
The 90s Revival: Because we're all tired of the future
I first noticed the 90s revival a couple of years ago when my daughter wore an outfit that looked a bit like Quinn from Daria. Then my friends’ kids talked about getting CDs and listening to bands like Green Day. On a Discman. One of them sported a Nirvana t-shirt. Then it was all about throwing away the skinny jeans and breaking out the low-rise bootcut jeans (I am OK with low-rise bootcut, but the mom jeans look should never see the light of day).1
very good neon
one of my favorite things to look at are neon light sculptures. there was a time where most lights you saw outside were glass and gas, even behind plastic grocery store letters and deli signs. then LED lights hit the scene and the market for real neon tanked. to some relief, the art world, along with people nostalgic for the warmth of neon, started commissioning neon artisans for work or taking workshops to learn how to do it their own. i fall in the latter group, and i learned this history firs...1
Just a check-in
pckt blog passed one thousand users today. I know it doesn't sound like a lot in this day and age, but let me tell you, that's a lot ! I'm so thankful that that many people have even spent any amount of time exploring pckt blog and giving it a chance. Of course, not all one thousand people will be blogging on here, I'm sure of that, but at least some of them will be :) and that makes me so happy ! It's really exciting to be working on something that first of all, I'm very passionate about, and s...3
State of the Atmosphere (CONF 2026)
I should be cleaning the house right now but instead I'm writing about the ~Atmosphere~ again... It's been a full week since I first arrived in Vancouver, for Atmosphere Conference. I am back home now and still don't have a full grasp on my thoughts, but it was a pleasure to meet so many people enthusiastic about the growing AT Protocol ecosystem. People who have been building the web and related technologies for decades (some even longer than I've been alive,,, shout-out old-heads1
Skateboarding
I've been wanting to skateboard for many years. Always too scared. I was a big ol' fan of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, since the first game came out, but that never really translated into an interest of skateboarding in the real world. I remember standing on a skateboard at Toys R Us when I was like ten but immediately didn't like it. Was scared of it. Also I think my parents discouraged it anyway. My brother was a skateboarder at the time and he'd occasionally come home all bloodied n shit, they did...2
